Question,
I have been having itching in
my pubic area for several months now. I was diagnosed
with a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis three
months ago (in March). I took the antibiotics for the BV
and yeast infection but now the itching is just in my
pubic area not in my vagina. I have not had intercourse
or any close contact whatsoever since my diagnosis in
March but I am afraid that I may have crabs. I don't
know how though since it was not spotted three months
ago at my exam. I believe I saw a small bug but I see no
nits (i don't think) or no red or blue spots or bumps
that appear from them biting. I did find several hair
follicles that had a white tip. At first I thought it
was the root of a hair follicle but I noticed that the
tip was hard and the white tip could be snatched off. I
know nits are usually made at the base of the hair
follicle so could what I found be nits anyway? The
evidence I have that it may be crabs is that I itch and
I think I saw a bug and a few white hard tips on hair
follicles. Could it be something else? Like I said there
are no spots that show the bite marks of the crabs and
there are no nits by the base of any follicles. I am
very concerned and incredibly embarassed. Please help
me.
Answer
Itching in the pubic area can be due to pubic lice
infestation or fungal infection or due to
pseudofolliculitis secondary to close shaving and all
these conditions can be treated effectively. Without
examination it is difficult to guess the diagnosis.
Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have white patches on both
underarms. My doctor treated me for a fungal infection
and told me that the color would never come back, but
with all the new things that Dermatologist can do for
the skin I'm hoping she is wrong. I haven't been
comfortable wearing sleeveless tops in a long time.
Please, is there any treatment at all out there.
Answer
If the whitish patches are due to fungal infection (tinea
versicolor) the affected area gets back its original
color within a few weeks after an effective treatment.
If this does not happen consult another dermatologist.
Question,
I am 21 years old and recently
I discovered an oval-shaped pale discoloration on the
top of my glans penis. It feels slightly wrinkly to the
touch and it appears as a translucent halo (skin-colored
but slightly lighter) surrounded by a grey outline. It
is approximately 1/2 cm x 3/4 cm. It doesn't cause any
irritation or itching, but an interesting thing I
discovered is that the discoloration becomes whiter when
I urinate. What could cause this phenomenon? For your
information, I have extremely dry skin and have ezcema
on my chest and inner elbows, if that helps. Thanks very
much.
Answer
Without a clinical examination it is not possible
make a diagnosis of the condition you have on your glans
penis. This probably has nothing to do with your dry
skin. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
i have few pimples on my face
and pimple marks on my face. my face is not smooth
perhaps not clear face. kindly suggest homeopathy
treatment. thanking you
Answer
I am an allopathic dermatologist and I have no idea
about homeopathic treatment of acne. Please direct your
question to a homeopath.
Question,
hello doc. I have exzema on my
hands alot and my fingers. A few weeks ago I noticed a
small dry spot on the base of my penis, and it has
spread. Can this be exzema? it doesnt hurt but is
spreading quite quickly. Thanks
Answer
Eczemas and fungal infections are itchy. You have
mentioned that it does not hurt but is spreading. Only
after a clinical examination it is possible to know the
diagnosis. Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
On the top of my head, my hair
is thinning out. I am only 28 yrs old female. I have had
bloodwork done at the doc office, and all results came
out fine. He suggested seeing a dermatologist, but
wanted to ask what can be done about this? Is this
passed from generations or caused by stress. When
showering, it falls out after shampooing, in rather
large amounts that doesn't look normal. How can I
restore my hair growth before it gets too bad, or can I
use rogaine?
Answer
Excessive loss of hair in females is common after
child birth, if she has iron deficiency anemia,
uncontrolled diabetes melitus, thyroid gland
malfunction, crash dieting, drug induced, due to severe
stress or rarely androgenetic. This condition requires a
proper history and lab investigations. Do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
I have a purplish mole looking
dot. Over the years they keep popping up in different
locations of my body, mainly my arms and legs. They are
normally the size of a dot from a pencil give or take.
My son was born with one on the side of his face. I've
been told that it could be a form of purpura, but I
looked at some pictures and it doesn't look like that.
I've also been told that it could be a busted blood
vessel, don't know. Or someone in my shop said it could
be a small small trace of cancer. Just with this
information do you know anything. I was also born with
one on my wrist that one is my largest one it resembles
the mole. No one in my family has these dots to my
knowledge.
Answer
From your description it appears that you have cherry
angiomas and these are benign vascular growths. They can
be cauterised. Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have scars from cutting and i
really want to stop having to wear
bracelets/wristbands/in general cover up. i am also
worried about summer for bathing suits b/c of stomach
scars, what should i do/how can i camaflouge them, will
i have them forever?
Answer
If your scars are superficial they shall probably
fade in course of time. Contractubex ointment can be
used for a couple of months. Microdermabrasion or
chemical peeling also can be beneficial.
Question,
I am 27 years old female. For
last 4 years, I have a cyst on my forehead, which is I
think a bone cyst. But it is not painful, not at all,
but it is growing day by day. Please advice.
Answer
If the swelling on your forehead is enlarging do
consult a dermatologist, sooner the better.
Question,
I am praying that you can help
me. I am a dark skinned Black woman (34). My skin
overreacts to any irritation by blackening and staying
that way for months or even years.
I have keratosis follicularis on my arms and legs, all
my life. It no longer erupts in bumps, but each and
every hair follicle has a little black spot, which makes
my legs look very ugly, like a plucked chicken.
All my life I have looked longingly at other women's
smooth legs and wished I could have it, even for a week.
Now that my pores don't get plugged up anymore, is there
anything that can be done to lighten my pores so I have
a smooth, continuous color on my legs? Sorry to be vain,
but it's a dream of mine.
Answer
Try topical Retin A cream 0.5% at bed time for a
couple of months. If there is irritation dilute it with
an equal amount of moisturiser and then apply. If there
is no response consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I think I have pompholyx
eczema. I went ice fishing 4 months ago & held my hands
in front of a heater causing a lot of sweat. That
night, itchy bumps formed. I've seen 2 doctors; both gave
me different creams, but neither work. One peels the
skin. When the skin starts to heal, bumps reoccur. The
other cream seems to make it worse. Any suggestions?
Answer
Without examination it is difficult to say whether
you have pompholyx or any other hand dermatitis. Consult
a dermatologist.
Question,
i have had these little
purplish bumps on my inner thigh for the last
3-4mthsthey never hurt untill about a mth ago .its got
my whole upper left inner thigh hurting really bad could
you make a guestamation on what this might be i looked
up maluscum and this aint that thanks
Answer
With your description alone it is difficult to guess
the diagnosis of your problem over your inner thighs. Do
consult a dermatologist.
Question,
Hi Doctor - I have scars on my
breasts from a reduction i had about 10 years ago. i
have tried lasers which helped to flatten them and
reduce the redness but they are still slighly raised and
are now brown. Do you think steroid injections would
help? What about Eldopaque Cream Forte? Is that a strong
enough agent to remove the color from the scars? Thank
you.
Answer
You are probably having hypertrophic scars or mild
keloids. Intralesional steroid ijection can flatten them
and also lighten them.
Question,
When I eat some shell fish I
break out in hives what is this from and how can I treat
the hives
Answer
Avoid eating shell fish. Systemic antihistamies will
help in clearing your hives. In case of sever attacks
you may need adrenaline and steroids and hence reach a
clinic or hospital at the earliest.
Question,
Hi, I am a 26 year old male.
For the past few months I have been getting small bumps,
1-2mm on my hands, mostly on my fingers. They are
slightly raised, and when popped leave a small shallow
hole in their place. They usually clear up on their own
in a few days, sometimes drying out the area where they
were and making the skin thick and dry. They have a
clear puss like fluid in them. They sometimes itch but
very little, do not pop easily from scratching and are
not painfull. They will dissapear for weeks at a time
and then come back in clusters. I have not noticed them
anywhere else. I do not have health insurance at the
moment and can't really afford to see a doctor at the
moment. Any info you could provide would be greatly
appreciated.
Answer
Without examination it is difficult to guess the
diagnosis of your skin condition on your hands. Do
consult a dermatologist.
Question,
Hi doc. I wonder if how many
weeks can contractubex heal my scars..its superficial,
it resulted from scratching. I miss wearing shorts and
Im also a varsity player and i have to wear shorts
during trainings.. So i really need help asap.. And can
u suggest other topical ointment that can heal my scars
(pigmentation, not keloid) faster.
Answer
Superficial scars and pigmentation secondary to
superficial wounds usually clear in a few months time.
Contractubex can be used for 2 to 4 months and if there
is no satisfactory improvement then do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
MY SON HAS A PYOGENIC GRANUOLMA
ON HIS CHEST. IT STARTED AS A SIZE OF A PINHEAD AND
RAPIDLY GREW. WHAT IS THE BEST TREATMENT FOR NONSCARING
AND LACK OF REOCCURING?.
Answer
Pyogenic granuloma can be treatd by elecric cautery
or cryotheray or with a laser depending on the size of
the lesion.
Question,
About 2 years ago I developed a
cyst-like bump on my bikini line. It was very sore and I
went to my doctor to have this removed. I was never told
that anything was wrong.
A month or so after having this removed, I developed the
same type of bump on the opposite side, but in the same
area. I now have one on each side of my bikini line,
sometimes they are both there, sometimes 1 will go away,
only to come back in a week or a month.
I have noticed small pimple-like bumps that seem to
develop before the "big" bump. I find these little
"pimples" get very itchy at times. I try not to pop
them, but sometimes I feel I have no choice because they
are sore and itchy, and I feel getting the white puss
out will relieve it. This is usually when the bigger
bump forms. I have tried not popping the pimples, but
the big bump still forms.
Answer
You have probably developed furancles. As you are
getting recurrent attacks get a culture and sensitivity
of the pus done and take the appropriate antibiotics.
Question,
doc, i'm a petite lady who's
turning 20. i've got a lot of old keloidal scars. what
products can you recommend to me? coz these things
really bother me and make me insecure.. thanks in
advance!
Answer
Keloids can be flattenned with intralesional steroid
injections.
Question,
I am scheduled to see a
dermatologist in a couple of weeks, but am still curious
what would cause raised bumps, some are red, some are
just regular skin tone. After awhile, they are just flat
and pinkish and a little rough. They don't really itch.
I have them on my legs, lower arms, and abdomen. They
started about 3 months ago. I have never had allergies
or an inclination to develop rashes and they just won't
go away. Actually, they seem to be multiplying. I tried
rubbing alcohol this evening which seemed to help a
little. I bath daily and keep a very clean home. I just
can't figure this out. I'm 38, recently finished a
masters program, have 3 children, a full time job, maybe
its stress? It looks all bumpy on my arms and naturally,
its embarrassing as I deal with numerous people daily.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Answer
Without examination it difficult to guess what you
have. Do consult your dermatologist.
Question,
Hello! For the past several
years I have experienced several "outbreaks" of spots on
my chest, back, and upper arms that will not hold a tan.
Well, i get an even tan at first, but then a couple days
later after tanning, those areas begin to peel in thin
layers of skin and leaves me with dots or clumps of
paler skin. I went to see a doctor last summer about it
and she scraped the whiter areas and tested it for tinea
versicolor. It came back normal, so she told me just to
use a lotion with alpha-hydroxy in it and it should go
away. Well, after a while, it went away and wasn't so
bad over the past winter. Just about 2 months ago, the
same thing happened so I went to a different doctor and
she did the same thing. Tested my skin for tinea
versicolor, which also came back normal. She told me i
might have pityriasis alba and gave me a lotion to use,
but it didn't work, so i went back to her 2 weeks ago.
She tested my skin yet AGAIN for tinea versicolor, but
still it showed normal, no fungus. The doctor then went
on to say that even though i didn't show a fungus, she
wanted to treat me for tinea versicolor anyway. She
prescribed to me nizoral pills and told me to use
another gel (loramax maybe - i can't remember) on the
areas that were affected. Anyway, I am a little nervous
to take that medication as I have read that it can
sometimes cause people to develop hepatitis and also
because of the simple fact that i showed no sign of
fungus.
I need your help desperately!!! My skin looks horrible
and I don't know what else to do! Could I still have
tinea versicolor even though all 3 tests have shown that
i do not??? What else could this be??
I'm looking forward to hearing back from you soon!!
Thanks!!!
Answer
From your description it appears that you have tinea
versicolor only. It is recurrent but it can be treated
effectively with systemic Ketoconazole or Itraconazole
of Fluconazole. Do consult your dermatologist.

Question,
My 6 year old son complains
that his penis itches. He is forever holding it. He has
said that its the head that itches but I can't see
anything that could be causing it. Some days he appears
to go to the toilet frequently but this doesn't seem to
be at the same time as his penis itches. Should I take
him to my local Doctor? Or is this something that should
pass in time? Although it has been going on for a while
now. Thank you.
Answer
There must be some reason for the itching over his
penis. Please do consult your family doctor.
Question,
Are there any safe antibotics
that can be taken for Rosacea during pregnancy?
Answer
It is better to avoid any medication during pregnancy
unless it is really required. If the rosacea is severe
erythromycin can be taken after consulting your doctor.
Question,
HOW DO I GET RID OF MY RAZOR
BUMPS. I SHAVED MY HEAD AND TWO TO THREE DAYS LATER I
WOKE UP WITH BUMPS ON THE BACK OF MY NECK
Answer
Avoid shaving against the direction of hair growth.
Try an electric shaver.
Question,
i have kiloid but it is not
seen anywhere on my body yet. i want to get a few
piercings is this a risk?? i want one particularly on my
tongue is this dangerious??
Answer
Any deep wound can result in a keloid. It is
difficult to predict and it is upto you to take this
risk. Over the tongue it is better to avoid piercing.
Question,
How can you get rid of stretch
marks with out going through laser and creams? Help.
Answer
Stretch marks do fade to some extent in course of
time. Microdermabrasion can help to some extent.
Contractubex ointment or Palmars stretch mark cream can
be of some use.

dermatologist.
Question,
I am a female...two weeks ago
after shaving my pubic area, I noticed some bumps, they
tend to be very itchy, a few days later more showed up
in the same area..this time they became very painful. I
thought they were just razor bumps at first, but with
the pain, itching and swollen lymph nodes I became very
concerned...I went to my doctor who is running the
appropriate tests to make sure it is not a result of an
std, but as you know the test take a little time to come
back...is it possible that these can be razor bumps that
became infected..also the time I noticed these bumps I
just started to use a different kind of shaving cream. I
hope you can help me...I don't have any other symptoms,
thank you
Answer
You have probably developed secondary infection of
the razor bumps. Avoid shaving this area and if you have
to, do so along the course of hair growth only once or
try an electric shaver. Do take your doctor's advice
after the lab results are known.
Question,
Hi doctor! I have a problem
underarm shaving. I have dark armpit like if I did not
shave. Have sensitive skin therefore cannot wax or use
creams to remove the hair. I have to shave once every
day or else later on noticeably hair grows again so
fast! I've tried different razors, new razor blades,
different shaving creams/gels and skin still becomes
irritated. Are there any methods or products you
recommend me that I could use to reduce or make make the
irritation, rashes, dark underarm, and itchiness
disappear?
Answer
As you are not able to tolerate the usual methods of
hair removal it is better that you get rid of those
armpit hairs by laser therapy. The existing pigmentation
is likely to fade in due course of time.
Question,
I have a question. My hair
began to be noticeably thin a few years ago. I still
have most of the hair on the top of my head. The problem
is that it is getting thin in random, tiny spots. When i
look closely, i can still see hair that looks like its
gone from further away. I do not notice baldness on
ANYBODY on either sides of my family. This really makes
me feel awkward around everybody else.Do you have any
idea as to what it may be?
Answer
From your description it is difficult to guess the
exact type of hair loss you have. Do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
I have a lot of old scars in my
legs that i got when i was still a kid. I am 27 yrs. old
and never in my life I wore shorts outside because of my
horrible legs. I was thinking of using peeling or
bleaching cremes. Please help.
Answer
Superficial scars do fade by chemical peeling or
microdermabrasion.
Question,
I am three and half months
pregnant and I am currently experiencing terrible acne
and discoloration on my face. Can I use bleaching
products such as DH7 or Nadinola to clear up my face??
Answer
During pregnancy it is better to avoid any topical or
systemic medication. If the acne is severe topical
erythromycin can be used. I have no idea about DH7 or
Nadinola as these products are not available in this
part of the world.
Question,
DR. you tell people who have
hyperpigmentation to use 2% hydroquione cream to fade
dark areas.I have heard this is unsafe and that it
causes the skin to get darker and could result in
permenant scarring, as well as health problems
especially in africian americans. What gives with this
advice and is there anything that really works without
all the risks?
Answer
Hydroquinone 2% cream is recommended for
hyperpigmentation but shouild not be used continuously .
If there is no response in 4 to 6 weeks it has to be
stopped.
Question,
gud
day doc! im a filipina and i am very vain even when im
still 13..at age of 17 i already use astringents and
some creams like whitening, depigmenting cream and even
placenta creams. Now my face looks very thin and have
large pores. and some pimples are getting visible and
some turn to become acne-like.. i want it to be clearer,
whiter and pore free but my face is so sensitive to
commercial products in stores.. please help me doc.. im
very insecure to girls with natural looking fairer and
whiter skin.. thanks for the time..God bless!
Answer
From your description it is not possible to guess the
nature of the skin problem you have. Do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
i have had these bumps in my
pubic hair region for about 2 years now. They puss or
bleed sometimes when i squeeze them. Some of the bumps
stay and some go away. There are also a group of little
bumps on the lower under side of my penis where some
hair seems to be wanting to come out.It feels like
little balls under the skin. Do you know what this could
be.
Answer
You have probably developed folliculitis (infection
of the hair follicles) and you may have to take a course
of the appropriate antibiotics after getting a culture
and sensitivity from the pus done. The little bumps you
have under the penis are probably prominent hair
folliclar orifices and you do not have to worry about
them. Do not press them and leave them alone.
Question,
I'm a b/w i notice that i
have two light color spots on my face over my nose on
both side of my face one side is starting to fade but
the other side is not infact it is starting to spread.
can you tell me what could this be and what can i do?
Answer
Light colored patches on the face may be ptyriasis
simplex or tinea versicolor or ringworm infection or
previtiligo or vitiligo or rarely Hansen's disease. Only
after clinical examination a diagnosis can be made. Do
consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have gone to my physican
and found that i have folliculitis on my legs. They only
appear as little bumps that turn red, then white. I am
taking Topicort and anoter cream that the doctor
described. However, they seem to never be going away.
They come up on my feet, and even on my arms and hands.
Could wearing shinguards in soccer have any affect? and
does it ever go away? and should i keep with the cream
or do something else? Help, PLEASE!
Answer
You are probably having chronic and recurrent
foliculitis. Get a culture and sensitivity done from the
pus and take a course of an appropriate antibiotic.
Question,
hi doctor....iam 21 years
old ..my problem is that i have moles on my face not
very dark but dark and i wanna remove them ...tell me
how ...and if there are any side effects...? thankyou
Answer
Moles can be removed by electric cautery or laser
therapy. With an experienced hand scars are unlikely.
Question,
Over the last 8 months i
have been getting cysts all over. i have had 3 under my
arm one on my stomach 2 on my leg. what is causing these
repited cysts. they swell up to the size of a ping-pong
ball and are very red and painful. often they will open
and puss will come out. i have been to the dermatologist
and told him, and was put on antibotics as well as
compresses, but they keep coming back. please let me
know how i can stop them from occurring.
Answer
You are probably having recurrent furancles. Get a
culture and sensitivity of the pus done and take the
appropriate antibiotics. Get your fasting blood sugar
and a routine urine test done. Avoid sweets and soft
drinks.
Question,
My husband has had several
very large painful bumps around his butt and thighs with
lots of blood and puss draining out of it bad... It
looks like a big, big open wound with tons of puss all
around it and blood has been draining out of it like a
leaking faucet... what in the world is it? how did he
get it? And how does he get rid of it? Please we really
need to know because he refuses to go to the doctor
because he is way too embarass. Please help!
Answer
Your husband probably has recurrent furancles.
Without examination it is not possible to guess the
diagnosis. Besides he also requires blood and urine
tests and also culture and sensitivity from the pus.
Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I used to have Razor Bumps
on my face but i implimented a new shaving method and i
dont get them anymore. But the problem is that i have
scaring and discoloration in some areas on my face. I
was wondering how to get rid of them.
Answer
Try cotractubex ointment for a couple of months. If
there is no change consult a dermatologist.
Question,
Hi Doctor, My boyfriend and
I used to live in a house with a bunch of dogs while we
were attending college. When we were done, and we moved
into another apartment, I started getting these
pimple-bumps on my face although even smaller. It
started around my nose, and now I get them on the rest
of my face, along my hairline, and my neck. After a bit,
my boyfriend started to get them also. I thought they
might be from mites, and so I put a vinyl cover over my
bed after many endless itchy nights, and I stopped
itching. I thought that that was the problem and that
they would go away, but they never did. When I squeeze
them they only drain of clear pus (not much though) and
then a little blood comes out (not much though either),
then it looks like there is a hole there. They scab
over, and then eventually fade away, but after a few
weeks. They don't itch or anything either. I am 30 and
do not have an acne problem either. If anything, my skin
is sensitive. Do you know what this could be, and how I
can treat it over the counter? Thank you
Answer
From your description it is difficult to guess the
diagnosis. Please consult a dermatologist.
Question,
i am an 20 year old male. a
few months ago i had fallen and bit my inner lip. after
a few weeks i noticed a type of bumb apeared. it has no
redness around the bumb. its not dry. it doesnt hurt at
all. its the same color as the rest of my inner lip. i
left it alone for a couple of months, just thinking that
it would heal.but it never did. so i decided to drain
it. a type of yellowish translucent puss came out.after
i had done that it went away. but then two weeks later
it was grown back to the normal size.might this be a
type of herpes or something else maybee.
Answer
You have probably developed a submucous cyst in your
lip. This can be excised or cauterized or treated by
cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen. Consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
2 questions the first being
i notice swelling or enlargement of one or sometimes
both of my nipples it feel like something hard just the
past week i notice that if i squeezed it puss like fluid
would come out but not in one area all over. the second
question is my girlfriend thinks she has herpes simplex
she is almost positive she hasn't been check but she
takes meds for it we were messing around and a day later
she had an outbreak on her mouth she is very concerned
that she gave me herpes gentilia 1 how would i know if i
contracted this and 2 how common is herpes if the
numbers i am reading are like everyone is say shouldn't
almost everyone have some sort of herpes thank you for
your time
Answer
Only after examination it is possible to tell whether
the lesions you and your girlfriend have are herpes or
anything else. For further confirmation a serological
study for herpes antibodies is required. Consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
Dear doc, I have had heat
rash/pimple type bumps on my forehead for about 10 weeks
now. They are painless yet when squeezed have some
whitish fluid. Seen a dermatologist who diagnosed
cosmetic acne and treated it with Doxycycline 100mg/14
days and Retin-A cream which i'm still usine. There has
been a significant improvement. Coincidentally i have
noticed similar bumps on a girlfriend. What is it and
what is the best treatment?
Answer
From your description it appears that you have acne
only and you are taking the right treatment. Acne is not
contagious. What your girl friend has it is difficult to
guess without examination. Take a dermatologist's
opinion.
Question,
Hello, how are you? I'm
alright, I guess. I came across your website just by
surfing off of the elidel.com website. Since I was in
high school I have had problems with the skin of my
feet. I have been to the local dermatalogist, she no
longer can help me. A year ago, I went to a foot and
ankle center, I stopped going to him, although he was
great for me. I get really itchy on my feet. Whether it
be from dryness or too moist. No matter what, my feet
are itchy. Since I left the foot and ankle center, I
believe it's me just scratching out of habbit and I felt
that I shouldn't waste his time anymore. After I
scratch, I notice that I get smaller than a pea size
water bubbles where it is itchy, they can actually get
to be the size of a nickle or dime. I've come to notice
if I don't pop them, my feet continue to be itchy. After
I pop them, it is still itchy but becuase of how
sensitive the area is, I won't scratch. I have been
tested to see if I'm allergic to anything, came up
negative. I have been on so many steriodal and non-steriodal
creams. I scratch to the piont where I make myself bleed
and it looks like trench foot. The foot and ankle doctor
gave me a idea to soak my feet in DOMEBORO, however it
clears it away, doesn't stop the itchyness, and repairs
the skin, but once it gets too dry it cracks open and
becomes itchy again. I would then apply a moisterizing
anti-itch cream but from being so moist it would itch
really bad. I'm looking at the elidel cream to try out.
I want to go swimming again, I want to wear sandels, but
it's too embarressing. I need help. I'm at my last
resorts. Can you help?
Answer
From your description it appears that you have a
condition called pompholyx. This is a recurrent and
itchy condition. Often it is stress induced and responds
well to topical steroids, systemic antihistamines and in
severe episodes systemic steroids are indicated. Consult
another well experienced dermatologist.

Surgical scars are permanent. They do lighten a
little as the years pass by. Contravtubex is of some
help. Use it twice a day for a few months.

Without examination it is not possible to make out
the reason for your oily pale skin. Do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
Four years ago, I started
getting little bumps on the back of my arms and outer
thighs so I went to a dermatologist and he told me that
it was Keratosis Pilaris. Now I have the bumps just
about everywhere. I have them on my stomach, all over my
legs (not ver many below my knees), on my arms (not a
very many below my elbows), a few on my face, and they
are very bad on my back and sides. Is this still
Keratosis Pilaris or has it developed into something
else? I have also been diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and
just recently started Synthroid. Is there any connection
between Hypothyroid and Keratosis Pilaris or other skin
disorders? If so does the synthroid help to eliminate
the severely dry skin problems?
Answer
From your description it appears that you have
keratosis pilaris only. This is a disorder of
keratinisation and can be seen in families. There is no
cure for this but with topical Retin A (0.05%) the
lesions do flatten. In hypothyroidism the skin becomes
dry and keratosis pilaris can become prominent and with
treatment for hypothyroidism these conditions do
improve.
Question,
i have little whit bumps on
the upper part of both of my arms and nowhere else. they
do not itch but they look like little whitheads. i can
squeeze them and a white puss (like from a pimple) will
come out then the area will turn red for an hour or so.
then the bump comes right back. any idea what this may
be?
thank you :)
Answer
You are probably having acneform eruptons on your
arms. Do not squeeze them. Use a topical Retinin A cream
(0.05%) for a few days once at bed time and if there is
no response consult a dermatologist.
Question,
hi doctor. i am balding
around my temples (but not the crown) and its getting
deeper by the day. the hair usually becomes thinner and
then drops. i have been having this problem for two
years but now its becoming more visible.most of my male
relatives face the same problem too, so i suuspect it
must be genetic. what can i do about it cause i dont
want to be bald.
Answer
You are developing male pattern alopecia (androgen
alopecia) and it is difficult to treat this condition.
Topical minoxidil 2% to 5% may be beneficial in some and
one has to continue to use it forever and it is
expensive. Oral fenesteride (1mgm) has been found to be
of some use in some. It is an antiandrogen and in a
small percentage it can cause erectile dysfunction. Now
you have choose whether you want hairs or normal
erection. The other treatment for well established
baldness is hair grafting and it is done in many centres.
Question,
My problem is that I've lots
of dark spots on my face as well as my back.they are not
from pimples/acne.On the face it starts like a mosquito
bite(although it's not),dissappears in almost 5 min. &
leaves behind these dark spots.I'm surev that it's not
due to any kind of insect bite.
Answer
With your description alone it is not possible to
arrive at a diagnosiss. Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
is contractubex is effective
in acne scar or blemishes?
Answer
Contractubex is of little help in acne scars.
Microdermabrasion or chemical peeling or dermabrasion or
laser resurfacing is recommended, depending on the depth
of the scars.
Question,
Doc how can i repair skin
thinning, atrophy and striae of my axilla due to
excessive use of corticosteroid? Thank u.
Answer
Skin thinning and atrophy is difficult to treat. For
striae try contractubex ointment twice a day for a few
months.
Question,
I have been experiencing
itch and rashes as the back of my trunk. Apparently, the
rashes run in a line and are slowly forming a kind of
huge spirical pattern to the centre of my back. There
isn't any signicant huge bump except the skin felt kind
of rough. Is this normal heat rash?
Answer
With your description it is not possible to arrive at
a diagnosis. Please consult a dermatologist.
Question,
Hi, I am 20 year old male
from California Bay Area and I am suffering with extreme
itching all over my body, and it is contageous because
now my wife itches all over her body just like me. And
not only that, both me and my wife are getting these
white spots all over out bodies on the skin. They are
not bumps, they more look like burn scars and the hair
doesn't grow on them. We are also very fatigued all the
time and our bones or muscles ache like crazy as if we
are getting old. Please help, tell me what we may have.
I have been itching for the past 4 years but started
developing these white scar like spots recently and they
are spreading well too fast!!! These itches that we are
getting are not just regular itches, they are the worst!
Put it this way, the more I scratch the itch the more it
will itch and there is no end to it, it just get worse
and worse and worse. Please reply. Thank you!
Answer
Without clinical examinatio it is not possible to
guess what your skin problem is. Please consult your
dermatologist.
Question,
My husband has black patches
all over his body, which becomes more visible during
summer when he sweats more. One of the skin specialist
gave Nizral tablet 200mg for 5 days.I heard that this
tablet has side effects. Is it true?.
Answer
Your husband probably has a superficial fungal
infection called tinea versicolor. This condition
responds well to treatment and Nizoral is quite
effective. Nizoral in a small percentage can be toxic to
liver. If liver function tests are within normal limits
oral nizoral can be given.
Question,
During Pregnancy my wife was having herpes 2 infection
as it was positive in torch test(torch test was done in
Jan 2004) she took
occuvir medicine. She Delivered baby on march 26 2004 it
was normal delivery, what is possiblity that herpes
infection is transfer to baby, baby's torch test was
also done it showed negative result, baby also took
zovirax treatment. I am still worried what futher
precautions should i take, should i continue zovirax
,pl. answer on my mail ID
Answer
As your child has not developed any skin lesion
suggestive of herpes and as the blood tests was also
negative you do not have to worry. If by chance the
child develops any skin lesions do consult a
paediatrician or dermatologiat.
Question,
I am a regular user of
methamphetamines, and for the last year or so have been
dealing with small bouts of skin infections like tiny
boils and ingrown hairs - nothing a round of antibiotics
and a hierarchy of treatment won't take care of quickly.
But lately, about once a month, I develop a horrendous
boil, usually on my hand somewhere - fingers (just past
2nd joint from tip) or the back of my hand. These start
out as small pimples, boils or ingrown hair infections,
and can be dried out using epsom salts and the like. But
one will stay behind, and within 4-8 hours my hand will
be swollen up painfully, with bright red skin around the
area stretched so tight the skin sometimes spkits.
Usually the offending hair can be spotted quickly and
removed, but then I notice a small tip of what looks
like greenish-yellow pus growing beneath the skin,
usually in more than one spot. A product that smalls
like crude oil called "draw out" usually softens the
tissue enough to dig the entire mass of infection out,
but pulling it out (which can only be done with a very
accurate pair of medical tweezers) is very difficult. It
takes quite a bit of pull, the fibrous clot seemingly
connected to every nerve in my hand, and I can feel it
grabbing on and holding to other areas. It will not fall
apart, however, and even resists cutting, and when it
does pull out all the other tips disappear, showing they
are connected. The resulting extruded mass is sometimes
almost as long as my finger itself, and is a bright,
almost fluorescent green. I don't see any core of hair,
and what on earth can be so tough and fibrous? What are
these things, and what causes them? How do I treat them?
The resulting scar is purple and enormous, and that area
of the hand loses some strength. Please help! I doubt I
am host to an alien species, but at this point it would
not surprise me.
Answer
Without examination it is not possible to guess what
you have. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
Doctor - i have two
questions. First, I have recently found a large, red,
irritated bump underneath the skin in the pubic area.
When i drain it it gets tender and oozes pus and light
blood. From your descriptions i believe this to be a
sebaceous cyst. Is that accurate? However, at the same
time i noticed that i had developed about 5 pin-sized
flesh colored-what i thought were warts? Upon fooling
around with them i was able to scrape them off and they
each bled for a short period. Are these warts? Ingrown
hairs? fungal or viral reactions?? response to the cyst?
Second, about 3 weeks ago i (starting noticing) small,
red pin-sized bumps that showed up first on my wrist,
then stomach, then leg, and butt. Overall there were
about 10 of them. I have scraped at them, they scabbed
over, but now my skin has a red overtone where the bump
used to be. I recently went and got tested for HIV. Is
this a stress reaction? folliculitis? I'm worried its
connected to HIV (i'm still awaiting my
results)...thanks for your help and time!
Answer
From your description alone it is difficult to make
out the exact diagnosis. Please consult a dermatologist.
Question,
HI, IM 17 and I have never
had any sexual contact, but about 2 years ago I noticed
all these white bumps beneath my skin on the back of my
penis to about halway up, but not in the area where cum
comes up. Some might have little hairs coming out of
them but not to sure, I tried squizzing them and
sometimes I can get stuff out. Plz Help me should I be
worried, what can I do...
Answer
You are probably having prominent hair follicles only
in the area you have mentioned and this does not require
any treatment. Do not squeeze them and just leave them
alone. To confirm the exact diagnosis consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
I have dark excess body hair
all over my body and it's definitly not normal, not to
mention the fact that I'm a female. I was wondering if
it was due to chemical or hormonal inbalance of some
sort? Should I go see my doctor about it? Is there any
type of medical treatment that can be given to get rid
of the hair, such as pills or anything of that nature?
Please help
Answer
Excessive growth of hair can be familial, due to
hormones (androgens) or drug induced. You have to
undergo hormonal blood tests before any treatment can be
planned. Do consult a dermatologist
Question,
hello dr..i would like to
know whether all warts in human skin are due to
hpv??will it spread to different parts of the body?will
i pass thru sharing beds?how long hpv virus can stay
outside human body?what are the symptoms of allegies due
to spermicides or wearing condom in male genitals?is
syphiis completely curable?what r the concequences of
wearing brief while sleeping?awaiting ur reply thanks..
Answer
Warts over human skin are due to HPV and it can
spread to different parts of the body. There is a
posibility of acquiring infection by sharing beds.
Dryness is detrimental to viruses and hence it can not
survive outside the body for more than a few hours
probably. The main symptom to allergy for any substance
is itching and this is followed by redness, swelling and
oozing. Syphilis is curable, whether it is completely
curable is still doubtful. Dr. Stokes who is considered
to be an authority on Syphilology in his text book
(published about 75 years ago) mentions that syphis is
treatable to a point of presumptive cure and this fact
still holds good. There is no problem in wearing a brief
while sleeping as long as it is not tight.
Question,
I had what I thought was a
zit under my right eye. After about 2 weeks, it didn't
go away. At one point I tried to squeeze the puss out of
it and it just swelled up and wouldn't pop. It has now
been over 2 months and It is still red, but doesn't look
like a zit. It is still red and when I run my finger
across it, I can tell that it is barely raised. I'm
afraid that it is a scar, how do I hide this blemish?
Answer
Without examination it is not possible to guess the
diagnosis. Consult a dermatologist or an ophtholmologist.
Question,
hello dr,i hav alreay asked
u some questions before which i got satisfactory
answers.i hav some more doubts which iam sure that i
will get good advice frm u.my first doubt is is hpv
infection or genital warts cancerous to male?my 2nd
doubt is what are the riska and complication that can
happen if an infant is infected wth p0v that is in its
larynx?is that cancerous and is there any treatment for
that?my 3rd doubt is is cervical cancer treatable and
how can we prevent development of cervical cancer frm
hpv infection?who is doing papsmear test?is that
dermotologo\ist or cancer speialist or gynecologist?how
much it will cost?
Answer
HPV infection is one of the causes of penile cancer.
There are chances that the child can develop HPV
infection at the time of delivery if the mother has
warts over her genital tract. Laryngeal warts can be
removed by electric cautery through an endoscope.
Cervical cancer is treatable. Detected early it is
curable. Early treatment of cervical warts prevents
development of cancer. Pap smear is taken by a
gynaecologist and the test is done by a pathologist. The
cost of pap smear varies from place to place and from
lab to lab and it is not expensive.
Question,
I am 14 years old, and I
have these small bumps on my nipples, almost like
pimples, when i squeeze them, they pop just like
pimples, but do not go away, I was really scared for a
few days that it was breast cancer, but then I looked it
up, and I think it is most likely a begnigm cyst,
because it has all the signs, is there a way to cure
this without having to see a doctor?
Answer
Without a clinical examination it is not possible to
know what exactly you have. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
hello doctor, i've this
embarassing ugly problem...instead of shaving my
underarms, i pluck the hairs and gradually i noticed
that they have turned unsightly! the hairs are gone but
there are acne-looking pimples and bumps and when i
squeeze them white pus comes out. often it hurts and i'm
pretty worried as i've started to have more BO. how do
you suggest clearning the bumps/acne-looking things
under my arm? also, will using the product 'Ingrown Go'
- removes ingrown hair work? your reply is greatly
appreciated.
Answer
Do not pluck the hairs as this can injure the hair
follicles and result in folliculitis. Use an electric
shaver and pass it only once. Try an antibiotic cream
locally for a few days and if there is no response
consult a dermatologist.
Question,
Hello. Im a 19 year old
female. For a few years now ive noticed i have these red
spots on my face, neck, and sometimes chest only after i
shower, swim, or sweat... I can tell when i get them
because they itch a little. The itching goes away after
15 minutes or so but the red spots can last an hour or
more.... It happens every single time now ... When i was
pregnant it was only happening maybe once or twice a
week and wasnt as bad so I dont knwo if its something to
do with my hormones or what... Plz let me knwo what u
think..thx!
Answer
You are probably having an aquagenic urticaria. This
is a mild type of urticaria and it responds well to
antihistamines. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
i am an indian. Both of my
parents have fair skin. i too have fair skin all over my
body except for my face. i had serious acne which lead
to inflamation. my acne problem has gone for roughly a
year but i'm left with a darker complextion. how can i
get my original complextion. i've consulted a gp who
ruled out diabetes n i'm in my ideal weight. he told
something about post inflamatory hyper pigmentation. i
really hope u can help as i'm a teenager and feel very
deppresed because of being diffrent than the other
members of my family
Answer
Use a sunscreen regularly. Post acne pigmentation
fades in due course of time. Try a 2% hydroquinone cream
for a couple of weeks. If this does not help consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
Hello, Dr my 3 year old
child has had these dermatitis in his legs. They look
like if something bit him or even like chicken poxs.
They don't have pus at all. He scratches them and a
little hole seems to form. He gets very itchey. I asked
his Dr. if they could be flea bites and he told me
maybe. I'm really concerned since I have diabetis. Is
there any chance he might get it? Could those. Also I
have a lot of scars of skin infections that I've had due
to the diabetis. They are like purple in color and look
ugly. I only wear pants I'm embarassed to wear something
else. I'm 27 years old and I got the diabetis when I was
pregnant with my child but it did'nt go away. Is there
something I can use that will make the scars lighter or
fade away?
Answer
You child probably has an insect bite reaction called
papular urticaria. A topical steroid cream with systemic
antihistamine syrup should clear this condition. Please
do confirm the diagnosis with a dermatologist and take
his or her advice. For you skin problem also take a
dermatologist's advice.
Question,
Sir, I have two questions
Q1. I have had a dark patch of skin on my right waist
for a number of year (about 10 years) and recently I
notice it is slowly spreading out. I have been applying
anti fungal creams to it but it is not clearing up. It
does not itch and seems to blend in with the skin. I
would appreciate if you could identify the disease and
recommend prescrition.
Q2. In Late 2002 , I went for a medical check, my Chest
x-ray indicates a bit of abnormalty and I was put under
medication for 2 weeks. After two week I went back for
review and my chest x-ray was cleared by the Doctor. In
June 2003 I went for another medical check and my chest
x-ray was once again showing abnormalty. I was put on
medication for two weeks and again after a a review I
was cleared by the Doctor.[The medical examination I was
doing was relating to my travel overseas.]In April 2003
I noticed one of middle right fingernails got infected
and by end of the year my left ring finger also got
infected. I have been to a doctor and was advised to put
on antifungal cream/oinment for fingernails. The nails
looks OK but they discoloured. I also have my two toe
nails discoloured and looks solid (yeast)I have applied
the antifungail solutions. The doctor advised that with
nails it can take up to 6 to 12 months for results. I am
41 years old. I have been smoking for some 20 y!
ears before quiting in 2000. I weigh 103Kg and height
1.67m. My last Medical examination was in October 2003
and I was cleared of HIV and Hepetitis B.
Answer
You are probably having fungal infections of skin as
well as nails. Get a microscopy and culture done from
the skin scapings and nail clippings and take the
appropriate therapy.
Question,
hello dr..please tell me the window period for herpes
igG AND IGm tests.what does the two tests indicate.i
mean past infection ,present infection like that.what is
the window period for hepatitis b surface antigen
tests, vdrl tests.how uch accuracy is there for a pcr
test for hiv?tell me dr what are the symptoms of genitl
warts and after how many days after infection it will
appear?and after how many days the treated warts can
recur on the same spot and i there any similar dieseases
which is like genital warts hich can cause due to vitami
deficiency or wet cloths or unclean hygiene.is there any
chance of rashes formation if the genitals r not cleaned
properly after masterburation?i there any chance of
genital warts like growth due to wearing of wet
briefs?is there any chance of similar growths if someone
is having kidney stone?doctor iam asking all these
because i was been diagnosed to have herpes first by a
doctor which was proved wrong by clinical igg and igm
tests and second dr told me iam having genital warts.and
he told me that i dont hav anyother problem as i seeing
my blood test reports...all were negative and the test
has been done at about 45 days after exposure.can hpv
spread by touching warts wit hand and touching other
parts of body with same hand?what are the chances that
hpv that is infected sexully to b cancerous ie hpv 16
type.what is the type of hpv normally transmitted
sexully?and if it is some other growth which u suspect
please tell me any medication..thank u very much sir
please reply me in detail clearing all my doubts
Answer
IgM test indicates the presence of viruse with active
infction and IgG test indicates past infection. It takes
at least two weeks for antibody tests to become positive
after the appearance of active lesions. VDRL test
becomes positive about 10 to 14 days after the
appearance of a primary ulcer. PCR test positivity is
confirmatory (95%) in HIV infection. Warts can appear
after 2 weeks to three months after exposure. Type 16
HPV is the commonest type responsible for genital
cancer. Do consult a dermatologist / STD specialist to
confirm whether you have genital warts and take his
advice and counselling.
Question,
i believe that I have
bromhidrosis. I went to the dermatologist and she gave
me Drysol for hyperhidrosis. I used it for a couple of
weeks, and I dont see a difference. It also irritated my
skin, I felt a stinging under the arm area. Can you
please give me some sdvice on products I can use to cure
this problem? Soaps, creams, sprays, or deodorants would
be very helpful? I saw in a post to use ketaconazole
shampoo? Is there other products out there?
Answer
Bromhidrosis does respond to ketoconazole shampoo to
a good extent. If this does not work try a topical
clindamycin. You may have to use them repeatedly as
there is no cure for bromhidrosis.
Question,
My sister (Age 26 yrs) is having a big greyish black
spot over her right cheeks cover under her eyes. At the
time of birth it was on the head and now as she grown it
comes on the cheek. I would like
to know is it curable by any means. As i had seen the
advertisements of Laser therapy, could u please suggest
some good laser clinics in Delhi or any where in India.
Answer
Your sister has a birth mark called Nevus of Ota and
it responds to Laser therapy (Q-switched ruby or
Q-switched ND-Yag laser). I am sure such lasers are
available in New Delhi and I do not have address of any
such clinic. Do ask any practicing dermatologist in
Delhi.
Question,
hello, are you familiar with
"steatocystoma multiplex"? if so, what herbal treatments
can i use to treat this condition? a biopsy was done and
i was told this diagnosis. i constantly get huge 'abcess'
'boil' 'cyst' if you will on any given day, week, month.
these irritating things can and will get infected at
random on my buttocks, back, chest, upper arms. my
buttocks has a colony of small very light yellowish
color'cysts' underneath the skin just sitting there
waiting to get infected and turn into a huge or small
painful, painful boil or abcess. there must be something
that can be done for me. it has been a problem for me
since the age of 20. when i visited various doctors or
dermatologists, many of them attempt to treat it by
guessing. they have no idea what it is much less know
how to treat it. i really could use your assistance.
thank you very much
Answer
From your description it appears that you do have
steatocystoma multiplex (numerous sebaceous cysts).
Systemic tetracyclines and azithromycin do help in
controlling the condition. But the treatment of choice
is systemic Roaccutane (Retinoid) for 6 to 7 months.
Before this therapy you have to undergo certain blood
tests. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
IM 20 YR OLD MALE AND I HAVE THESE BUMPS MAYBE 5 OR 6 ON
MY PUBIC AREA THEY HURT AT FIRST THEN THEY STOP HURTING
THEN DRY AND TURN HARD AND START TO ITCH. THIS IS SECOND
TIME THIS HAPPEND, THE FIRST TIME IT WAS ONLY 2 BUMBS. I
DO TRIM MY PUBIC
WITH CLIPPERS. THEY HAVE BEEN THERE FOR ALMOST WEEK AND
HALF. I ALSO HAVE THIS LITTLE BUMB ON MY INNER THIGH,
ITS NOT HARD OR ANYTHING BUT CAN I HAVE A STD?
Answer
Without examanation it is difficult to guess what
exactly you have. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have dark patches on my
toes. They look like big scars. I juut want to remove
them but i do not know how.
Answer
Dark patches can be treated. Do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
hi a couple of months ago my
foreskin became quiet tight and i noticed that there was
a smell and white stuff over my penis gland. a couple of
weeks later, after being more hygienic with my penis it
cleared up. however now the colour of my penis ( the
gland ) is turning blue underneath. there is no smell
and no white stuff anymore. i think i had a mild case of
banlantise which i researched on the net, i was not
offical told by a doctor, its just my guess. since then
i have become more hygeinic, i.e after sex, clean my
penis and after unrinating.but the blue discolouring is
stil there. maybe its nothing but i would like to know
if you have ever heard this before and what should i do?
i am in a steady relationship and am carefull when
having intercourse with my girlfriend.
Answer
A slight bluish discoloration is common over the
lower part of glans penis. As long as ther is no pain or
any other symptom you do not have to worry. Nevertheless
do consult a dermatologist to know exactly what it is.
Question,
I believe that I have
bromhidrosis. I went to the dermatologist and she gave
me Drysol for hyperhidrosis. I used it for a couple of
weeks, and I dont see a difference. It also irritated my
skin, I felt a stinging under the arm area. Can you
please give me some sdvice on products I can use to cure
this problem? Soaps, creams, sprays, or deodorants would
be very helpful? I saw in a post to use ketaconazole
shampoo? Is there other products out there?
Answer
Bromhidrosis is a difficult condition to treat.
Antiperspirants and deodorants do have transient
effects. Ketoconazole shampoo used regulary can be
helpful. Topical clindamycin is also beneficial.
Question,
how can we prevent
reccurance of genital warts?what are the chances of
cancerous genital warts i mean the percentage wise?how
can cervical cancer due to hpv infection prevented and
how can infant infection prevented?i there any ayurveic
or homeopathic medicine for avoid reccurances available
in india?
Answer
Get the existing warts treated well and see that
there is nothing left. If by chance there is any
recurrence get that also removed. Have a regular check
up and this will prevent transmission to infants. If the
warts are not treated and remain for a long time their
chances of turning malgnant are more and its exact
incidence is not known, but it is known that about 75%
of cervical carcinomas are positive for HPV virus.
Ayurvedic and Homeopathic doctors do claim that they
have remedy for warts.
Question,
Iam a black woman who is
concerned about pigmentation. I have darker pigment on
my neck, undermy arms, and my knees what can i use to
even out my color that works? I have heard about skin
lightening pills are they safe? please help!
Answer
Frankly I have no idea about skin lightenig pills,
but I am sure they are not safe. If you are overwight
reduce your weight and with this alone the pigmentation
will fade in due course of time. Try a 2% hydroquinone
for a few weeks and if this does not work consult a
dermatologist
Question,
I have hyperpigmentation on
my upper inner thighs caused from friction and wanted to
know if this usually goes away with weightloss or should
I be using some kind of cream, laser, or acid?
Answer
With the reduction of weight pigmentation over inner
thighs do fade gradually. Try 2% hydroquinone for a few
weeks and if this does not work do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
I have psorasis and have
gotten it on parts of my body before but they have gone
away. Now I have these red spots that aren't very big
but are itchy. at first I only have one on my stomach
and then it spread so that i have 5 little spots formed
in almost a circle but aren't connected, and I have the
same thing on the other side and a few spots like this
on my legs. They are itchy and red, slightly bumped up
and some of them are scaly but they aren't the white
scales like psoriasis. Could this be psoriasis? It has
just been spreading for the past couple of days. I also
just noticed another rash on my shoulder that is tiny
little red spots that aren't bumped up but are all over
my sholder.
Answer
Those lesions are probably psoriasis only but without
examination it is difficult to guess what exactly they
are. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have a 49 year old patient
that has been developing severly cracked, dry, and itchy
skin, often into blisters on her hands. We have noticed
that this is occuring immediatley before and during
menstration, any ideas or directions you could point us
in?
Answer
Your patient probably has pompholyx. This condition
usually responds to topical steroids and systemic
antihistamines. Severe episodes require systemic
steroids in addition. Rule out contact allergic
dermatitis, psoriasis and tinea infection before
statring therapy.
Question,
I have a probelm that i've
noticed in other overweight african males. The sides of
my face, from the temple to the cheekbone has become
darker than the rest of my face. How can i solve this
problem?
Answer
Use a sunscreen regularly while going out in the sun.
Try a 2% hydroquinone cream for a few weeks and if this
does not work do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have one slightly red bump
on my upper inner thigh, the size of a pencil eraser. It
looks and feels very much like a mosquito bite. The bump
does not itch nor is it painful. However I have had it
for close to a year. Any ideas what it could be?
Answer
You are probably having a soft fibroma (benign
condition) or an epidermal cyst. Both can be removed. Do
consult a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis and
advice.
Question,
I woke up one morning 2
weeks ago and i was itching everywhere. my scalp, and
then body. at first i thought it was just a weather
change or dry skin itch. the next day it kept itching,
only this time, parts of my skin first tingled, burned,
and then developed a mosquito lookign bump. the more i
scratched it, the more worse it got. it looked like
tehre was a devil in me and it wanted to come out of my
body-it made scratch marks that bumped up like mosquito
bites. i went to doctor and they gave me allegra,
thinking i just had allergies. it wouldn't go away so i
went to chinese doctor. he said i probably have liver
problem so they gave me chinese herbs and acupuncture.
it wouldn't go away. now it's been 2 weeks and its still
there. i get these itch attacks, the cycle of tingle,
burn, and itch and bumps that look like mosquito bites
come out everywhere, like hands, back, neck, shoulder,
arms, legs...what on earth is wrong wiht me? no one can
help me. the itch is driving me crazy and i don't know
whether i should go to dermatologist or what. seems like
no one knows what's wrong with me and no one is
reliable. the bumps go away after 5 or 10 minutes. and
comes back later depending on the days. it's irritating
me and i cannot concentrate on anything. please help.
Answer
You are having an acute urticaria. Urticaria is
usually secondary to food allergy, any infection in the
body, drugs, insect bites or intestinal infestations.
Besides this there are a some rare causes. Do not panic.
Once the cause is eliminated the condition clears. Do
consult a dermatologist and take the appropriate advice.
Question,
Hello, I'd like to ask if
contractubex can treat atrophic scar. I am looking
forward to hearing from you soon.
Answer Contractubex is not of much use in atrophic
scars. There is no complete cure for atrophic scars.
Depending on their depth they can be treated and made
less prominent by chemical peeling or microdermabrasion
or dermabrasion or laser resurfacing.
Question,
I have bumbs filled with
yellow puse, they are so pain full. I have one on each
knee. They have been on my legs butt and arms. please
help
Answer
You have folliculitis. Consult a dermatologist and
take a course of appropriate antibiotics
Question,
I have been diagosed with
lichen planus and I am taking oral steroids and a using
topical cream. I have severe hyperpigmentation all over
my body and as a result I feel confined to long sleeve
clothing. Will the marks ever fade or is there any safe
treatment to remove them?
Answer
When lichen planus lesions clear they do leave
residual pigmentation called post ichen pigmentation and
they take a few months to a couple of years to clear on
their own. If they are extensive leave them alone. If
there are a few lesions a mild topical steroid
application for a couple of weeks can reduce the
pigmentation to some extent. Do not use the steroid
preparation for a long time.
Question,
I have cellulitus and i
can't use regular sunscreen due to burning of my skin i
was wondering if there is some sort of cream that will
block the sun and not burn me? thanks
Answer
Newer sunblocks with an SPF of 30 and above do
prevent sunburm to some extent and none of them give
100% protection either for sunburn or suntan.
Question,
I
am a 26 year old white female. I have had red bumps on
my lower bottom since my elementary school years (around
7 years old). Sometimes I will get these red bumps on my
upper back thighs, but not nearly as often as on my
bottom. They can really hurt sometimes and will
sporadically fill with puss. I have been to the doctor
and have been told that it is a heat rash. I do not feel
that it is a correct diagnosis. The doctor told me that
there was nothing that I could do about these "pimple
like" bumps. They are embarrassing and hurt for I am
constantly sitting. What do you think it is? Is there
anything that I can do to prevent them? I have tried
using body acne wash as well as over the counter acne
medications such as 'clean & clear persa-gel', but to no
avail. (I do live in a rather hot and humid climate, but
when I do go to cooler and dryer ones, the "pimples" do
not cease). Please help. Thanks so much.
Answer
You
are probably having a superficial folliculitis. Get a
culture and sensitivity done from its pus and take a
course of appropriate antibiotics.
Question,
I
am a 20 yr old white female and I have had blotchy
patches of pale skin on my face since I was about 2 yrs
old. I have naturally red cheeks. When I go out into the
sun the patches do not burn but VERY slightly (only a
very minimal change that only I notice), when I blush,
the splotches stay white. I did some research and it all
seems to point to one thing: Nevus Anemicus. But there
is one thing that is different, the fact that if I
scratch it, or annoy that area of my face, it will turn
a light red (though light, still a significant
difference). I know there is no cure for Nevus Anemicus.
But I was wondering maybe I was wrong in my conclusion
that it is Nevus Anemicus. Thank you
Answer
From
your description it appears that you have a nevus
anemicus only and there is no treatment for it. Do
consult a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis.

and their interpretation and risk in hpv with my wife
and pregnancy and cervical cancer.can i kno the type of
hpv now without visible warts.i think iam now having
some small warts like in my penis..thanking u
Answer
The tests you have undergone for HIV, HSV 1 & 2 and HB
ASg are all negative and hence thee is no need for
concern. Nevertheless repeat the HIV test after 2
months.
Now that the genital warts have disappeared after
electric cautery and have not recurred so far the
chances for recurrence are less and even if they recur
they can be got rid of by electric or chemical cautery.
There are about 30 types of HPV viruses causing genital
warts. HPV antibodies can be detected in a small
percentage of infected persons and the other way to know
the type is to do a viral culture from the wart. Both
these tests are expensive and are done only in a few
reference labs.
There are chances for the new born child to develop HPV
infection if the mother has warts in the genital tract
at the time of delivery.
Chronic and recurrent cervical HPV infection can result
in malignany. In a study it was shown that 75% of the
women with cervical cancer reacted positive for HPV
virus.
The only way to prevent getting genital warts or for
that matter any other STD is to have sex only with a
spouse or a regular steady partner and abstain from
premarital and extramarital sex and if it is inevitable
use a condom without fail.
Question,
I
am writing in regards to my 7-year-old son. For the past
2 months, maybe even 3, he has had wind burn around his
mouth from constant licking, and he even stretches the
sides of his mouth (due to itching, I presume). After
just a short amount of time, the "wind burn" turns into
sores/scabs, one of which has caused scarring on one
side of his mouth and is now working on the other
because we just CANNOT get rid of it. We started out
using Chapstick, then Neosporin, then Cortisone, and
then a doctor at an urgent care facility prescribed some
type of yeast medication. None of this seems to make it
go away "forever!" It would normally develop after a
cold day and he would lick his lips outside. Over the
weekends it would almost clear up, as my husband and I
were constantly applying Cortisone, but then he would go
to school and by the time I picked him up, it would
already have spread at least 1/2 inch or more about the
corners of his mouth. Finally, I took the Cortisone to
the school nurse and asked that it be applied 3 times a
day. I applied before school, around dinner time, and
then again before bed. It would almost go away, and then
come right back after a perhaps just a day or two. Today
was not a particularly cold day, however, the "wind
burn" has just returned. My husband and I are getting
very worried that this could be a sign of something more
serious going on. I am really becoming very scared. Just
in case this may be related, I would also like to say
that the other day as I was taking him to school, he
began to have diarrhea and vomiting. This lasted only
one day and then he was fine (this has happened another
time, as well, approximately 5 months ago). No one else
got this...which leads me to believe it was not a "bug."
Also, for the past 2 weeks, he has began to complain
about his leg and hips hurting. There has not been an
injury that we (or he) can recall. This symptom is
strangely intermittent. I did some research online, and
came up with a disease called Legg-Perthes. I am going
to make appointments tomorrow with both a dermatologist and an
orthopedist, however, I am sure these will be weeks
away. I just want to know what your thoughts are after
reviewing the above.?? Have you ever heard of "wind
burn" that will almost be totally gone, and then one
lick brings it back??
I completely understand that you are limited to what you
can say, however, any help you could give me to perhaps
just ease my fears would be GREATLY appreciated.
Sincerely,
Answer
From
your description it appears that your son has a
condition called perioral dermatitis. This is a chronic
condition and is a little recalcitrnat to treat, but it
can be cured and it takes a couple of months to clear
completely. Ask your son to use only a mild toothpaste
(junior tooth paste) and keep telling him never to
moisten his lips with his tongue as the saliva worstens
it. Let him avoid soap in the affected areAnswer Avoid
smudging the perioral region with food while eating and
let him use a straw while drinking fruit juice. Never
use a strong topical steroid. These are all the
precautions and besides this take the advice of the
dermatologist.
Question,
Hello
Doctor, I think I was bitten by something about 6 years
ago, and I can still remember how my whole body started
itching for like an hour. It was so painful, like being
poke with hundreds of needles at the same time all over
my body. Ever since, my body still itches some times,
most of the time it happens when I get nervouse, or
excited, and there is no redness or anything. Can you
please tell me what might be wrong? Thanks alot.
Answer
What
you had six years ago was a generalized insect bite
allergic reaction. What you have now is probably a
stress induced pruritus. Try to relax and take a
nonsedating antihistamine whenever you have severe
itching. Do consult a dermatologist for further advice.
Question,
i
got a rash on my inner thighs. its a brownish color and
seems to itch and sometimes really bad. its been there
for a year but i thought i would go away but it spread
and is from one leg to the other. when i itch it, it
gets more itchy and gets red linesof bumps. i was
wondering if a std or a rash or what??
Answer
You
are probably having a ring worm infection called tinea
cruris or an intertrigo or a frictional dermatitis and
all these conditions require different treatment. Do
consult a dermatologist and take the appropriate
treatment.
Question,
I'd
like to ask if Contractubex can heal atrophic scar.
Thank you very much for your help.
Answer
There
is no satisfactory treatment for atrophic scars.
Question,
My
daughter is 8 and still sucks her thumb at the bottom of
her thumb she has white point pimple like bumbs and I
see she is now getting a few on her face, one on the tip
of nose, near the corner of her eye and one on her
cheek. Is this a bacterial problem? She does have a
doctor's appt. but not for about a week. Thank you.
Answer
Your
daughter probably has closed comedones or retention
miliAnswer They can be treated. Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
From
what I hear very often, acne scars are caused by picking
and sqeezing, which I don't do,but it seems like some of
my pimples leave behind scars. They are those yellow type
pimples that pop out by themselves after about 2
days,especially after I take a bath.Of course a blood
clot forms. And after the blood clot forms,a reddish mark
is left behind. When I look at it in sunlight,I see a
little crater! Can a scar gel like contractubex help in
my case,or will this fade in time?thanks for answering
my question
Answer
Deep
nodular and cystic acne lesions do leave depressed
scars. They do improve with time to a small extent.
Contractubex is of little help. Acne scars require
dermabrasion or microdermabrasion / chemical peeling
depending on the depth of acars.
Question,
I'm
16 yrs old and ever since puberty i have started to
shave my underarm hair. Since puberty, my underarm skin
is darker than the rest of my skin. Some days it's
lighter than other days, but the dark patches are still
noticable. I have also sweated a lot, I don't have odour,
but i sweat a lot, and no natural treatment seems to
stop my sweating. My mum thinks this could be the
reason...how do i treat my the dark patches under my
arms...? And/or how do i prevent my body from sweating
so much. Pls write back.
Answer
Excessive sweating can be treated with topical aluminium
chloride applications for many months. Nowadays some are
also using botox injections and this requires a good
deal of experience. Axillary pigmentation is difficult
to treat. Avoid close shaving. Antiperspirants and
deodorants can some time cause allergic dermatitis and
result in darkening. Try 2% topical hydroquinone once a
day for a few weeks. If there is no response do consult
a dermatologist.
Question,
i
have had these lumps on the inside of my thighs for
almost a year now, they are not pimples, they are hard,
raised from the skin, lumps. They have a pinkish color to
them, and they leave purple scars, i have so many scars
on the inside of my thighs... and no matter what i do
the lumps just keep comming back. I punctured one and
squeezed it and this whiteish liquid came out of it, but
it still left a scar afterwards, isnt there anything i
can do? please help.
Answer
You
are having folliculitis over your thighs. Get a culture
and sensitivity of the pus done and take a course of
appropriate antibiotics.
Question,
i have been getting these bumps on my
but, thighs, and vaginal areAnswer They are filled with white
puss, and they kinda hurt after you pop them. They leave
scars and they also peel. My boyfriend had this problem
at first, and i'm thinking i got it from him. Please
help me out. Tell me what to use and how to get rid of
these scars i have, already. And also how to prevent it
from happening again. THANK YOU
Answer
You
are probably having recurrent folliculitis. Get a
culture and sensitivity from the pus done and take a
course of the appropriate antibiotics. Besides get your
urine routine test and a fasting blood sugar done. If
your scars are superficial they usually fade in due
course of time. If they are deep do consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
About 5 or 6 years ago I had lichen planus and
I still have the spots on my lower legs and ankles and
they are very noticable. I just wanted to know if there
was any way that I could lessen them or even get rid of
them. I am dark skinned so I was told that lasers
wouldnt do anything for me except make those areas of my
leg lighter then the rest of my leg. What can I do?
Answer
You
have post lichen pigmentation and it ususlly takes a few
years for these marks to fade. A mild topical steroid
like hydrocortisone cream once a day for a couple of
weeks may hasten the fading to some extent. If it is
persisting consult a dermatologist.
Question,
dear doctor, i am a fourteen year old female,
and lately, i have been noticing these lumps on my inner
thighs, i punctured one and a pearly- white pus emerged.
Since then, they have kept comming back, they have grown
to be very large lumps, and if pressure is applied on
any part of them, it hurts very badly. The ones before
have gone away, but they leave huge, ugly rashes. The
rashes have absolutely covered the inner outside of my
thighs, and the lumps keep comming back, in different
spots on my thighs.
I am not sexually active in any way. Up untill now i
have ignored them, but the problem seems to be getting
worse. They have a purplish color to them and they are
raised above the skin. Could you please tell me what
they are and possibly a way to prevent/cure them? Thank
You
Answer
You
are probably having folliculitis (bacterial infection of
hair follicles) over your thighs. Get a culture and
sensitivity of the pus done and take a course of the
appropriate antibiotics. Besides get your urine routine
test and a fasting blood sugar done.
Question,
Hi I am 29 years old. I am using roaccutane
since 4 months. My question is after finish my treatment
how many months later is better for pregnancy? Thanks
Answer
As per
the pharmaceutical company's recommendation you are
supposed to guarantee that you do not conceive while on
treatment with roaccutane and for one month after
completion of treatment, but I always advise my patients
to extend this period for three months.
Question,
i have this rash around my mouth it is this
really dry, peely skin. it always comes back once a
month. what is it and how do i get rid of it. i have
already been on antibiotics.
Answer
As you
are getting recurrent attacks of these rashes it is
better that you consult a dermatologist and take his or
her advice.
Question,
I had a few pimples that popped out by
themselves when they became ripe. But they still resulted
in bleeding. I usually dab a piece of cotton with alcohol
for about 5 minutes to the area. 3 weeks have passed and
I can see red marks with some little dents not really deep, but are seen in
sunlight. Will they result in
scars? And in case they do, is contractubex advisable?
Answer
Superficial scars usually fade within a couple of
months. Contractubex is of little use in acne scars. If
they are deep do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
It has been almost a year since i got my naval
pierce and everything was fine for the first three
months. Then the skin around the piercing had started to
turn red and become flaky. Now there is a small bubble
type bump right below the piercing and it is still red.
My friends and sister who got the same piercing but
after me have no infections. My question is- Is there
anything i can do to cure the redness and bump. i really
don't want to take the piercing out. Thanks.
Answer
You
have probably developed secondary infection over the
pierced area. You may require a topical as well as a
systemic antibiotic, depending upon the severity of
infection. Do consult your family physician.
Question,
My 16 month old baby has a scar on her nose.
Is there anything I can apply to get rid of it or reduce
it?
Thank you,
Answer
Without knowing how wide and hwo deep the scar it is not
possible to advise treatment. Please consult your
dermatologist.
Question,
I am suffering from lichen planus and the
worst part is that it has left brown pigmented marks on
almost 50% of my body. These marks seem to be horrible.
IS there any way that these marks can be cured and
normal pigmentation restored?
Answer
You
have post lichen pigmentation and it ususlly takes a
couple of years for the marks to fade on thei own. A
topical hydrocortisone cream once day for a couple of
weeks may hasten its fading, but as these marks are
present over large areas it is not advisable use a
steroid cream on such extensive areas as it can get
absorbed and cause systemic complications. For cosmetic
reasons you can use it once a day on small exposed areas
like hands for a about two weeks.
Question,
I have white bumps around my nipple on my
breats, and i have started to develep a hard white,
round one , (really harD)it doesnt hurt unless i
irritate it. what could it be? i dont think it is
cancer, as when i geta breast exam, none of the docters
have said anything, as it isnt inside, but bumps out. is
this normal?
Answer
You
probably have small epidermal cysts and they can be
curetted or excised. Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I am 19 years of age and have had gas problems
all my life. My mother told me recently that I am
lactose intolerant, I figerd that this may be the
problem. so I have tryed to change my eating habbits
acordingly, but nothing seems to be working. Is there
anything I can do to prevent this? Maybe there is a drug
which makes gas oderless.
Answer
For
your gas problem please consult your physician.
Question,
Hello, doctor. I developed what looks like
fever blister on my lip and i used breva and went down.
however, after i ate lunch 2days ago, my lips started to
feel tingle and ichy & dry. I noticed pin drop size
white bumps were present on my lips. And day later it
spread to my upper lip and upper area of my mouth near
nose. What can this be??? What can I use to reduce these
bumps? Can this be allergic reaction?
Answer
You
have probably developed herpes simplex labialis (type I
herpes). This usually develops secondary to some stress
and is self limiting and heals in about a week's time.
Use a topical antiseptic cream to prevent any secondary
bacterial infection. If the lesions are extensive you
may have to take a course of acyclovir or famcyclovir
tablets.
Question,
I have an ichy red rash with watery clear like
pimples. It is on various parts of my body, between my
fingers, palms of hands, stomach, legs, feet. Any
suggestions of what this might be? Possible treatment?
Answer
From
your description it is not possible to guess the
diagnosis as there are over a dozen conditions with
similar rash and their treatment varies. As your rash is
quite extensive do consult a dermatologist as early as
possible.
Question,
i am 47 and about 3 months ago i got this rash
on both sides of my face..which is from my lower cheeks
down to my neck and behind my ears....kinda looks like
these tiny little pus bumps..it doesn't itch at all.no
fever either...i wear my hair up all the time..just
wondering what it could be....thank you
Answer
Without a clinical examination it is not possible to
arrive at a diagnosis from your description alone.
Consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I went running today outside it was a mild
temp around mid 60's in Florida, and when i got done
jogging I noticed that all over my body I was red and on
my arms and legs and hands there were tiny little bumps?
Answer
You
are probably having a heat urticaria or cholinergic
urticaria (secondary to sweating) and this is not a
serious condition. These lesions usually clear within a
few minutes of appearing. Severe and extensive rash
requires systemic antihistamines. You may have to undergo
some investigations. Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
It started with two small bumps on my ear that
itched like hell. They dried up and my ear was covered
with dry skin that just flaked off. Then my nose was
itching really bad and a store developed in my nose and
went away after about 1-2weeks. Now I have these little
red pimple like bumps appearing everywhere the itch
really bad then they disappear leaving dark marks almost
like a small stretch mark, but it doesnt itch after. They
keep coming and going its been about three-four weeks.
The doctor said it might been hives but she is not sure
what do you think. I have never had trouble with my skin
NEVER not even as a adolescent, and I am 32 now!!!
Answer
You
condition requires a clinical examination as with your
description it is not possible to guess the diagnosis.
Do consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have very tiny bumbs on my upper lip. What
is this?
Answer
You
are probably having Fordyce's spots ( these are ectopic
sebaceous glands ). They are harmless and asymptomatic
and they can be left alone. Some of them clear on their
own. If the lesions you have are extensive, large and
painful they may be something different and it is wise
to consult a dermatologist.
Question,
I have this itchy dry rash/zit type of thing
that just appeared like two days ago right below my
lower lip, if I itch at it it spreads immediately. But if
I wash it it lightens up, but never completly goes away.
What is it and how can I treat it?
Answer
From
your description it is not possible to arrive at a
diagnosis as an itchy rash below the lower lip may be
due to various different conditions. Consult a
dermatologist.
Question,
I have an itch on only the right side of my
upper thigh area where my underwear or brief line is.
There are no rashes or redness. I have been having it
for about 2 months now.
Answer
You
are probably having a ringworm infection called tinea
cruris or an intertrigo or a friction dermatitis. Use a
topical antifungal cream twice a day with a systemic
antihistamine like cetrizine or loratidine for a week.
If it improves continue the topical therapy for one more
week. If there is no response consult dermatologist.
Question,
i have literally hundreds of sebaceous cysts
literally all over my scrotum and many of them are
reaching the size of around half a centimetre across. is
surgery possible to remove quite so many (over repeated
visits?), or could laser surgery remove the cysts in
their entirety instead? thanks.
Answer
You
have a condition called steatocystoma multiplex. They
are benign, but they can become large and sometimes get
infected and become painful. They look quite ugly and it
is better to get them removed. Larger ones can be
excised and the smaller ones can be cauterized or
removed by laser therapy. If you just do not bother you
can leave them alone.
Question,
As contractubex is just like liquid, skin gets
dry after 2-3 min. Can I use Flucort-C after that or
after 1-2 hrs. Becz wound not ne open as there is my
skin loss. Can I use them after a gap of 1-2 hrs. Pls
suggest
Answer
Do not
use any steroid preparation on a wound. Use a topical
antibiotic with daily dressings till the wound heals and
after this you can use contractubex twice a day for
treating the scar.
Question,
Due to the nose skin loss in road accident 3
months earlier, I have been suggested "CONTRACTUBEX GEL"
by plastic surgeon, earlier I was using "FLUCORT-C"
suggested by surgeon who operated me.
1) I think "CONTRACTUBEX" is to remove scar, but still
some portion of skin has to come...whether "FLUCORT -C "
is right or contractubex. Pls suggest.
Answer
I
would suggest you take the plastic surgeon's advice.
Question,
Doctor, I am working in California and got
Poison Oak contact on my legs. Most of it quickly went
away as I seem to be resilient whenever I contact it.
However, the tender skin at the back of my knee was very
sensitive and itchy. IS this area often very sensitive
or thinner than other skin?
I am worried that scratching the poison oak rash might
have introduced some infection leading to a second
problem.
My second problem is that the next day I had a slight
fever. The day after that, my knee was stiff and sore
before bed. In the morning (today), my whole thigh is
stiff and sore. I am worried that I have a Staph or
Streptococcus infection in my leg, like cellulitus
perhaps.
Of course, the more I read about this online, the worse
I feel due to reading about flesh-eating viruses and
amputation.
I will seek antibiotics today, but everything is closed
for holiday, so I will actually go to a Chinese doctor
if this fails because they are open and my friend
offered to translate.
Is this cellulitus?
There are Chinese herbs that claim to cleanse the blood,
stir the immune system, and kill microbes, and I am sure
that there is some truth to this, but if my health care
provider is closed today, should I try this approach?
Also I was wondering what you think about the use of Tea
Tree Oil, and what safe guidelines exist for its
external use. I am told that it kills tinea and ringworm
by absorbing into the skin instead of just burning the
top layer. Is Tea Tree Oil safe for application to
the sensitive crotch, armpits, and back of knees?
Answer
You
have probably developed severe bacterial infection and
you have to take a course of systemic antibiotics
without any further delay. Consult your family physician
at the earliest. I would sincerly advise you not to
experiment with anything else when there is sever
infection

For
the removal of your scars and wrinkles and for
restoration of the skin color you may have to undergo
microdermabrasion or chemical peeling. Consult your
dermatologist and take his advice.
Question,
the heels on my feet are cracked and often
hurt the cracks go pretty deep. I have had pedicures and
even use a pumice stone and have tried several different
creams for cracked heal relief and nothing seems to work

You
can use a cream containing 5% urea after washing your
feet at bed time and wear a socks and sleep. As the
condition becomes better you can gradually switch over
to any moisturiser once a day or on alternate days.

Without examination it is not possible to guess what you
have. Do consult your gynaecologist or dermatologist
without any further delay.
Question,
I have had this problem for some years now.
During the first year of my teenagehood, I noticed these
small pimple looking things at the bottom of the shaft
of my penis. I didn't think much of it at the time
because I thought that they would just go away. They
dont hurt, they are just emberassing. I dont think that
its an std because I am a virgin. I noticed the bumps
after I first began to masterbate. I want to know if
there is some sort of cure or anything to help my
situation
Answer
You
are probably having prominent follicular orifices only.
Wothout examination it is not possible to arrive at a
diagnosis. Consult a dermatologist.
